Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has congratulated President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on his electoral victory.
According to the President-elect's office, Erdoğan on Saturday called Dr. Muizzu and personally congratulated him on his victory. During their conversation, the two leaders discussed the Israeli attacks on Palestine and explored opportunities for assisting the victims.
Dr. Muizzu emerged as the leading contender in the first round of the September Presidential Election, securing a decisive victory in the subsequent round with 129,159 votes. His opponent, incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, received 109,868 votes.
Dr. Muizzu has been receiving calls from foreign leaders offering their congratulations on his election success. Foreign ambassadors to the Maldives are also meeting with Dr. Muizzu to discuss strengthening relations with the new government.
