President's Office Minister Adam Rameez joins ruling PNC

Minister at President's Office, Adam Rameez has joined the ruling People's National Congress (PNC).

Rameez handed over his membership form to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony at the PNC office on Monday night. The ceremony was also attended by the President's Special Advisor and PNC Chairman Abdul Raheem Abdullah.

Rameez's entry into the PNC comes amidst speculation about his role in advocating for President Dr. Muizzu to be granted the PPM/PNC presidential ticket prior to the recent presidential election, even after it had been awarded to former President Abdulla Yameen. The matter was investigated by PPM's disciplinary committee. However, Rameez left the party before the committee could reach a decision.

A former army officer, Adam Rameez previously served as a councilor for the Henveiru Central constituency in the Male' City Council before assuming the position of President's Office Minister. He was President Dr. Muizzu's closest associate when he was the Mayor of Male' City.
