The government has decided to establish a dedicated company, the Maldives Industrial Development Freezone, aimed at ensuring economic security and fostering growth in the valuation and transshipment re-export business.
In his post, Minister Saeed revealed that the newly established company will be fully Maldives-owned. Minister Saeed expressed gratitude and congratulations to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu for the decision to form the entity.
Saeed said that the capital, land, employees, and facilities required to establish the company will be arranged within the next two weeks.
The establishment of a local company specializing in transshipment was included in President Dr. Muizzu's goals for the first 100 days of administration.
