Former Environment Minister Aiminath Shauna has been appointed as a Director of the Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) Board.
ORRAA is an international organization focused on addressing the challenges posed by ocean-related risks and enhancing resilience in vulnerable coastal communities. ORRAA's goals include investing $500 million in coastal development by the end of 2030.
Shauna's appointment comes on the heels of her tenure as Environment Minister, which commenced on May 5, 2021, under the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. She remained in office until the end of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's rule in November 2023.
