Gov't presents six bills to the Parliament

The new government has introduced bills in the Parliament for the first time.

Six bills were introduced and underwent first reading on Wednesday's parliamentary session. The bills introduced by the government include the Sovereign Development Fund Bill introduced by Thulusdhoo MP Ibrahim Naseem and the Land Bill moved by Fonadhoo MP Moosa Siraj. Inguraidhoo MP Hassan Ahmed presented the Criminal Procedure Act Amendment Bill while Macchangolhi South MP Ahmed Haitham moved the Health Services Amendment Bill.

Meanwhile, the Urban Planning and Urban Development Bill was proposed by Mulah MP Ibrahim Naseer and the Copyright and Other Related Rights Amendment Bill was moved by Kurendhoo MP Abdulgani Abdul Hakeem.

The government has decided to introduce a total of 24 bills in the first session of this year.
