Maldives' official reserves show decline in January

The Maldives' official reserves showed a decline in January.

The central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) said according to its data, the official reserves showed a dip at the end of January this year compared to December and the corresponding period last year.

At the end of January this year, official reserves were reported to be $551.1 million. This figure reflects a six percent decrease from the official reserves of $588.6 million recorded at the end of December last year.

In addition, the official reserves were 30 percent lower than at the end of January last year. Official reserves stood at $790 million at the end of January last year.
