The government has released MVR 56 million as compensation thus far this year.
The state budget for the current year has allocated MVR 101 million for compensation payouts.
According to the Weekly Fiscal Development Report released by the Finance Ministry, the government has disbursed MVR 56 million in compensation as of February 22 this year. The Finance Ministry has not disclosed the recipients of the compensation.
The budget allocated MVR 101 million for compensation last year as well. However, according to figures, at the end of the year, MVR 557 million was paid in compensation significantly exceeding the allocated budget.
