Nolhivaram MP Mohamed 'Mosta' Nasheed, seeking re-election, has endorsed the ruling PNC's candidate for the constituency, Ahmed Ashraf.
Nasheed, elected to the 19th Parliament as an independent candidate, could not be reached for comment regarding his decision to back the PNC candidate.
The PNC campaign manager for Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Hajj Corporation's Managing Director Mohamed Shakeel confirmed that Nasheed has joined Ashraf's campaign, and said Nasheed has accepted President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's policies to ensure the development, stability, and security of the country.
Two candidates contesting the parliamentary election under the Democrats' banner have also pledged their support behind PNC candidates and joined their campaigns.
