Bank of Maldives (BML) Tuesday announced a ‘Bank Fund’ to empower NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
The ‘Bank Fund’ invites proposals for ideas that promote sustainability and provide a social opportunity. Every year, five projects in the areas of education, environment, sports and community development will be selected to receive MVR 200,000 each.
BML’s CEO and Managing Director Karl Stumke said the bank invests back into the communities it serves by supporting community initiatives as part of being a sustainable and responsible business. He highlighted the bank's Community Fund as one such significant program which provided support to a total of 100 community-led projects since 2019. The newly launched Bank Fund is a revamped initiative to provide community organizations with even better opportunities, he said.
‘Bank Fund’ is opened for locally registered NGOs, charity organizations, and clubs. The application form and proposal should be emailed to [email protected] before 11:00 pm on 10th June 2024.
