A case filed by former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom against the Attorney General has been scheduled to be heard in the Civil Court today.
The case, initiated in 2022, concerns the alleged deprivation of a fundamental right or freedom and is scheduled for a hearing at 11 am.
In addition to the civil court case, the Criminal Court is currently handling multiple criminal cases against Yameen. The High Court has also ordered the Criminal Court to reconsider two of Yameen's previous convictions following his appeal. However, proceedings for these cases have yet to commence.
