Thoddoo residents protest over farming plot allocation, damage Council Office

Residents of Thoddoo island protested in front of the island council office on Wednesday, causing damage to the premises due to dissatisfaction with the allocation process for agricultural plots on the island.

According to police, the protest occurred around 1:00 pm on Wednesday. Some protesters threw stones at the council office and attempted to cause disruption and unrest despite police advising them against it. A police officer who was injured during the protest was treated at Thoddoo Health Center and has since been released.

Police have not disclosed whether any arrests were made but confirmed that the incident is under investigation.
