Gov't to present 37 bills in second parliamentary session

The government will be introducing 37 bills for this year's second session of the Parliament.

Rule 82 of the Parliament Rules states that at the commencement of each session of Parliament, the government must send to the Speaker of Parliament a list of the bills to be introduced by the government for that session.

At Monday's parliament sitting, Speaker Abdul Raheem Abdulla said he had received the list of bills to be introduced by the government for the current session.

"The list includes a total of 37 bills. I will share the list with the honorable members today," he said, adding that the list will also be published on the parliament's website.

The government introduced 24 bills in the first session of the Parliament this year.
