Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced plans to write a book detailing the events that occurred during his presidency.
President Solih emphasized the importance of documenting his term in office for historical purposes. He noted that he had accomplished significant work during his five-year tenure from November 2018 to November 2023, and said he believes it is crucial for the public to be aware of these efforts. He said he was currently gathering information in preparation for writing the book.
The challenges faced by President Solih's administration include the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic repercussions, as well as the challenges faced by the collapse of the then-main-ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
