Aasandha coverage suspended at Manipal Hospital in India

National health insurance scheme, Aasandha coverage in India’s Manipal Hospital has been suspended.

The government took the step on Monday to address concerns over high costs for healthcare services provided by the hospital and negotiate more reasonable prices for the services.

The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) has also received numerous complaints about Manipal Hospital charging patients extra fees.

Despite the suspension, Maldivians patients already receiving treatment at Manipal Hospital will continue to receive Aasandha coverage.

Currently, Aasandha services are available at 57 foreign hospitals, including 49 hospitals in India and eight in Sri Lanka.
