President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has established a special task force to monitor and address the issues faced by people due to the heavy rains and flooding currently affecting Male' City.
The first meeting of the task force was held Tuesday night at the President's Office, where members discussed the current situation and immediate solutions to the problems faced by the people due to the rains. The discussions included strategies for draining floodwaters from the roads in the event of more rain and ensuring that assistance is readily available to the public if needed.
The task force was chaired by President Dr. Muizzu. The other members of the taskforce are:
Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon – Defence Minister
Ali Ihsan - Homeland Security Minister
Dr. Ismail Shafeeu - Education Minister
Dr. Abdulla Khaleel – Health Minister
Thorig Ibrahim - Environment Minister
Adam Shareef Umar - Local Government Minister
Abdullah Fayaz – Chief of Staff at the Predent's Office
Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Hilmy - Chief of Defense Force
Ali Shujau - Commissioner of Police
In light of the severe weather, President Muizzu has declared today a public holiday to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
