Bank of Maldives (BML)'s Deputy CEO Aishath Nooruddin has been removed from her position.
The Privatization Board made the decision earlier on Friday.
Aishath Nooruddin is one of the longest-serving employees of BML, serving BML for over 42 years. The government has not yet provided any comments regarding her dismissal.
Nooruddin's removal comes at a time when BML is reportedly preparing to make significant decisions.
As a company with ordinary shareholders, any decision regarding the dissolution of shareholders must be addressed in an extraordinary meeting of BML.
