Over MVR 2.2 million in funds lost to scam cases has been recovered thus far this year, Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shifan has said.
Revealing this information, Shifan expressed concern that many people continue to fall victim to scammers who use deception in various forms. He noted that the number of scams conducted via social media platforms such as Telegram, Facebook, and Viber has surged significantly, along with scam calls made in the name of different companies.
Police and relevant agencies have been issuing regular warnings and awareness messages about scams. However, a significant number of people continue to fall victim to such frauds and scams.
