The Parliament has approved granting the Budget Committee one day to review the MVR 5.1 billion supplementary budget presented today.
The motion was introduced by Inguraidhoo MP Ibrahim Falah, the leader of the ruling PNC’s parliamentary group, and seconded by Baarah MP Ibrahim Shujau. The motion calls for the committee to review the supplementary budget within one day, and for the debate on the budget to commence at 1:30 pm today and continuing until concluded. Each member will be allotted five minutes to speak during this stage of the debate.
Once the committee completes its review, the supplementary budget report will be presented to the Parliament floor, where MPs will have two minutes each to debate the findings.
