Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has traveled to Kunming, China, on an official visit.
The VP is in China to attend the Third 'China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Blue Economy Development Cooperation', held from December 15 to 17. Upon his arrival, the VP was received at Kunming Changshui International Airport by Luo Hongjiang, Vice Chairman of Yunnan Province's People's Congress' Standing Committee, Tang Ying, head of CIDCA's Global Development Promotion Centre, and Wong Wei, Deputy Director General of Yunnan Province's Foreign Affairs Office.
Under the theme of "the Future of the Blue Indian Ocean Development, Practices of the Global South", the forum will include opening and closing ceremonies as well as thematic discussions, sub-forums and round tables on various topics, according to the China International Development Cooperation Agency. Nearly 100 high-level representatives from various countries and international organizations are attending the forum.
