Two Maldivians who attempted to smuggle in drugs into the Maldives through ingestion have been arrested.
The suspects, identified as Ihsaan Ishaaq, 33, of N. Manadhoo and Mohamed Farish, 40, of Male’ City, are currently admitted at Dhoonidhoo Medical Center due to presence of foreign objects in their bodies.
While the court has remanded them for five days, it has also ordered them to be presented before the court within 24 hours once they are released from the hospital.
