Former Construction Minister Mauroof Jameel has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC).
Mauroof’s appointment follows the resignation of Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed, who stepped down from the post amid corruption allegations surrounding the Binveriyaa Scheme.
When the HDC was first established as the Hulhumale’ Development Unit, Mauroof worked as a Director General at the unit. Later, as the unit transitioned into the HDC, he held the position of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
