Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has issued a warning for continued adverse weather conditions across the country.
According to the weather forecast valid until 6:00 pm today, rough seas are expected in southern and central areas. The northern seas will be moderately rough, turning rough during showers.
In northern atolls, wave heights are expected to reach between 3 and 5 feet, while in southern and central parts, wave heights of 5 to seven feet may be experienced.
The Met Office said some southern islands will be affected by showers, and thunderstorms in other parts. Heavy rain is expected in northern islands, with gusts into 40 mph. A white alert has been issued for the region till 11:30 am today.
