The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has warned that the adverse weather conditions in Maldives will continue to persist even today.
In its forecast in effect until 6:00pm today, MET Office said northern and central atolls are expected to experience heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. While some southern islands will also experience minimal rain, weather will be generally favorable in this area, said MET Office.
The MET Office said winds will be between 8 and 18mph from west to south west in northern areas. Gusts of up to 35mph is expected during showers in central atolls. Seas will be moderately rough, and expected to be rougher during showers.
The MET Office has also forecast wave heights of between four to six feet.
