Lawyer Maumoon Hameed has criticized the inability to solve murder cases, especially with regards to the lack of availability of intel reports and secret witnesses.
In a tweet posted Maumoon said the Police is able to obtain intelligence reports and secret witnesses extremely easily for all cases except for murder cases.
His tweet came after 19 individuals were released, initially arrested in connection to the murders over the weekend, spurred by gang violence. Police had said the arrested individuals had no connection to the murders.
Maumoon is a lawyer in the legal team defending former Defense Minister Mohamed Nazim. The case was carried out based on intelligence reports and statements given by anonymous witnesses. Maumoon had criticized that intel report as well.
