Former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb's lawyer Moosa Siraj has denied claims made by Husnu Suood, lawyer for former Defense Minister Colonel (Rtd) Mohamed Nazim, that the pistol discovered in Nazim's home was planted by the former VP.
Siraj said that Adeeb had not been questioned in connection to Nazim's case.
Speaking in the press conference held this evening, Suood said that Adeeb's DNA was discovered on the said pistol and that this has been confirmed by the Police as well. Suood said that Police had passed to forward the case to PG for prosecution.
"DNA was a clear match to the then Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb. As Police have enough proof they will be sending the case for prosecution," Suood said.
Suood said that Nazim has to be released now that the Police had irrefutable proof that he was framed.
