Minister of Housing and Infrastructure, Dr Mohamed Muizzu, has stated via Twitter that there will be no delays in the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge.
He called reports going around media 'baseless' and also stated that the bridge project is still on schedule, to be unveiled on the 26th of July, 2018.
A few media outlets have reported that there has been a slight hinder in the progress of the project, due to bad weather conditions.
Meanwhile, works of the temporary platforms of the bridge have been completed. In addition to that, three of the steel tubes required for the pillars of the bridge have been put in place.
This project, that values up to approximately 200 million dollars, is overseen by China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC).
