SATA announces nominees for 2016 awards

Local resorts and guesthouses are among nominees for the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA).

Nominations for SATA was opened up two month before and concluded on July 15. Tuan Saabir Vaffoor, SATA Vice President announced the final list of nominations.

SATA is the first Hospitality Award brand recognized by regional organizations including Federations of Chambers of Commerce in Sri Lanka (FCCISL), Colombo Chamber of Commerce (CCC), Confederation of Association Tour Operators (CATO, India), Association of Tourism Trade Organizations of India (ATTOI), Association of Travel Agents (ATA, Maldives) and Liveaboard Association of Maldives (LAM).

Over 200 parties have been nominated under 39 categories, which includes international brands as well.

The awards ceremony will be held in Sri Lanka in October. ATA is the focal point for the awards in the Maldives. Highrise is the awards ceremony organizers.

SATA has held discussions with the Government to hold the next awards ceremony in the Maldives. The full list of nominees is available in the link below.
