Ministry of Economic Development has delayed the "Expo Maldives 2016" to December. The Expo was initially scheduled for next month.
The Expo will be held in Dharubaaruge and will feature many local products, enabling a broader market for the said products.
Economic Ministry held an information session for participants of the fair on the delay. The session focused on application forms, standards on submitting items and other procedures.
The best three items from each category will be chosen this year as well. Like last year, the five best items will be granted SME loans.
Standard sized businesses have been allotted 50 stalls, each selling for MVR 2,000. Additionally premium stalls will be sold for larger businesses. Stall owners will have the option to decorate and design their own stalls as well.
Economic Ministry says they expect more modern elements compared to last year's Expo.
