Fire breaks out in ice cream parlor

A fire broke out in the popular ice cream parlor 'Scoop' in the capital Male.

The fire broke out around 11:40 AM Monday but firefighters were able to control the blaze before it spread to nearby buildings.

The 'Avas' journalist in the area said the fire had been controlled around an hour later and firefighters had entered the premises to see if anyone had been inside.

Eyewitnesses said the fire had originated from the Scoop kitchen.

No one was reportedly hurt in the incident.

A major fire in a warehouse in the capital Male last week had badly damaged two nearby buildings causing millions in damages.
