First charter flight from Addu lands in Huvadhoo Atoll

The first charter plane after seaplane operations have started in Addu City has left for Huvadhoo Atoll.

Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said in a meeting with businessmen on Sunday night that a seaplane had left from Addu City to Huvadhoo Atoll for the first time carrying tourists.

"We started seaplane operations in Addu to continue it despite the large loss we may incur," Saeed said.

The Minister had not revealed the resort to which the chartered seaplane had traveled to. Scheduled flights from Sri Lankan have started with the expansion of the Addu International Airport. Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) had started their charter seaplane operations along with this expansion as well.
