Maldives immigration Monday revised the visa regulation, preventing foreign nationals from applying for a special visa after entering the archipelago on tourist visa.
The regulation change also extends to foreigners having to apply for special visa, three days prior to arrival in the Maldives on an internship.
Immigration said the regulation change was prompted by an increasing number of requests for special visas from foreigners in the Maldives on the 30 day free on-arrival tourist visa.
