Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) on Friday rumours of a submarine sighting in the largest Atoll Huvadhoo in the Maldives.
MNDF spokesperson said the rumours which sparked a social media frenzy were completely baseless.
The spokesperson also rejected the alleged photos of the 'submarine' saying that the vessel captured on camera was a "super yacht" which was in Maldivian waters with the required permits.
