Police have arrested a foreign woman accused of prostitution in the capital Male.
Police said the woman was arrested from a local guesthouse late Saturday but added that no further arrests have been made thus far over the case.
The name of the woman arrested or the guesthouse has not been revealed by the police.
"She was arrested after police had entered the area after receiving reports of an assault," police spokesperson said.
Police last year had arrested several expats over alleged prostitution.
