Dhivehi Language Academy's president, Ashraf Ali has stated that IUM is working to start Dhivehi PhD programmes.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the University's debate, Ashraf said that along with Islamic University, they are now working to start programmes expanding the Dhivehi language and culture. He added that discussions and research have been conducted on introducing specific modules for Dhivehi Literature.
"Insha Allah, with the full potential of Islamic University and Dhivehi Language Academy, we are working on plans to draft and introduce a Dhivehi literature module and courses in the near future" Ashraf said.
He expressed that the future of Dhivehi Language appears bright and prosperous, mentioning that the language is gaining development and significance. However, there are still ways to work for the growth of our mother tongue and he called for everyone's support.
Winners of the debate competition were awarded with certificates and prizes at the ceremony.
