STELCO opens new building contract for bid

The State Electric Company (STELCO) has opened the construction of its 14 storey building for bids which would be open for both local and foreign contractors.

The bid documents are available for prospective contractors starting from the March 12-22. Bid documents will be available for USD200. Further information about the bidding process will be given out at 10:00 AM on the March 23, after purchase of the bid documents ends.

All bids will have to be proposed at 10:00 AM on the April 3.

A total of MVR300,000 will have to be presented as bid security before contractors take part in the bidding. The proposal will have to be presented alongside a bank guarantee letter, bank draft or a bank guaranteed check.

The fourteen storey STELCO building would be constructed on the same plot as the current main STELCO building. No other details have been given regarding the new building.

The current STELCO building has been in use for the past fifteen years, and it had been one of the more aesthetic buildings in the capital Male at the time.
