The captain of a dinghy carrying tourists from Gaaf Alif Vaadhoo island died after it capsized.
According to an island resident, the dinghy had capsized while carrying tourists to a surf point. He said the tourists aboard the dinghy at the time of the accident had survived without injury.
Describing the accident, the resident stated that the captain of the dinghy had died after he slipped and fell in to the water while trying to flip the dinghy back up. His body had later been discovered underwater in the area where the dinghy had capsized.
