Power restored to Alifushi island after four days

Electricity was restored to Raa atoll Alifushi island on Saturday after a major power outage that lasted four days.

Fenaka Corporation had installed a 600 kilowatt generator to restore power to the island. Alifushi Council revealed that the generator was installed around 06:00 am on Saturday and that the power was restored immediately after.

Fenaka had earlier sent a 200 kilowatt generator. However, due to some complications, the generator failed in restoring power back to the island.

With a population of 2800, Alifushi had been running on a 400 kilowatt generator and a 600 kilowatt generator. The 600 kilowat generator had failed to produce electricity, resulting in an island wide power outage.
