No charges against jailed minister’s brother, PG decides

Prosecutor General’s (PG) office has decided against charging jailed former defence minister Rtd. Colonel Mohamed Nazim’s younger brother Adam Azim. Azim was arrested last month for making statements about overthrowing the government and defaming the judiciary.

PG office said the case has been sent back to the police after the decision was made not to charge Azim.

Azim, who had been adamantly calling for his brother’s release since he was jailed, was arrested on Thursday under a court order. Court extended his remand after the arrest.
