Police summon MP Saud over missing documents

Police, on Saturday, summoned MP Saud Hussain, the parliament representative of Villingili in Gaafu Alif atoll. MP Saud is to be present at the police for questioning at 10:00am on Sunday.

MP Saud was sent a summon to be questioned over missing documents required by Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for their ongoing graft investigation. MP Saud, however, claimed the allegations were political after he was summoned and questioned by the commission over the ongoing graft investigation.

Saud who recently switched to the opposition had been questioning by the police over the investigation into an alleged plot to assassinate the appellate court judge Shujau Usman. 

Saud is a close ally of Ibrahim Haneef, who is the chief accused in the plot. 

Haneef was serving in a high position at the education ministry before he was dismissed over the allegations.
