Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Tuesday voted Supreme Court judge Abdulla Areef as its new chief.
Judge Areef was only appointed as the new Supreme Court representative to the country's judicial watchdog by the president on Monday.
Judge Ali Hameed who is Areef's predecessor had already served his two year term in the JSC. Hameed had also served as the JSC chief.
