Correctional services on Tuesday, stated that an inmate at Maafushi prison died while receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
Correctional services made a statement on its website identifying the deceased man as Mohamed Badheeu, a 52-year-old native of Haa atoll Landhoo island.
Badheeu was taken to IGMH for treatment on Monday afternoon. He had passed away around 3:30am on Tuesday.
