Two men were stabbed in the capital city Male in fresh gang violence on Thursday.
According to the police, the first stabbing had occurred around 8:35pm near the Villigili ferry terminal while the second stabbing occurred shortly after around 9:00pm in Maafannu district.
Police, however, did not disclose any further details on the incident or the victims.
The Maldives capital has seen a spike in violent crime in recent months after a period of relative calm. Police had also increased patrols around the city in the wake of an increase in gang violence and organized crime.
