HDC vows to complete 1200 flats next year

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has stated that the work of mid-range luxury residences in the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale are ongoing swiftly and vowed for completion of the residences by next year.

HDC managing director Mohamed Saiman commented on the swift progress of the work stating that residences will be completed by next year. He noted that the purpose of constructing such flats is to expand the classes of social hierarchy accommodated in the Hulhumale community.

The construction of approximately 1200 mid-range luxury residences in Hulhumale was awarded to 10 companies including Amin Construction, FW Construction, Hanbo Construction, ENSIS group, Renatus group, Damas group, Apollo Holdings, Batch Construction, Rainbow Enterprises and Jausa Construction.

Whilst the construction of 1200 residential housing units was awarded to private firms, the government also vowed for the completion of 7000 flats by the end of next year as part of the government’s social housing project.
