Another stabbing in gang violence spate

A young man was stabbed again in gang violence on Saturday.

According to the police, the 22 year old was stabbed around 1:30 am in Maafannu district of capital city Male. Police spokesperson said that the victim was rushed to the state hospital for treatment adding that the victim’s condition was not critical.

The Maldives capital has seen a spike in violent crime in recent months after a period of relative calm. Police had also increased patrols around the city in the wake of an increase in gang violence and organised crime.
