Police say will allow remanded MP to attend mother's funeral

Police on Sunday, stated that arrangements will be made for disqualified Villigili MP Saud Hussain to attend his mother’s funeral.

Speaking to Avas, police spokesperson stated that the authority will make all arrangements needed for MP Saud to attend his mother’s funeral.

MP Saud’s mother had passed away Sunday morning while being treated at Indira Ghandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) for a liver condition

Disqualified Villingili MP Saud Hussain turned himself in last after police had announced a manhunt for the rebel ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) lawmaker.

Police had immediately taken the MP into custody who was later remanded for 15 days by the criminal court.

MP Saud was summoned to Criminal Court earlier on Sunday to be given all necessary documents for trial.
