Patient carrier helicopters to land directly at Male'

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) is pushing to arrange for patient carrier helicopters to land directly at the capital city of Male' - currently MNDF's choppers land at Velana International Airport situated at Hulhule'.

MNDF is attempting to land choppers at the elevated grounds next to Male' swimming track on the south side of the capital. Which is right next to the office blocks to CCCC - the corporation handling China-Maldives Friendship Bridge.

On Saturday, MNDF carried out a chopper land test at the mentioned site.

Local army's information officer Captain Ibrahim Azim highlighted that by arranging chopper landings directly at Male' would save numerous time consumed in patient transfer. A move that would prove beneficial to the patient as well.

Captain Azim also noted the helipad site would be officially in operation once the safety parameters are assessed completely.
