A woman has been arrested from the island of Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll with items believed to be illicit narcotics in her possession.
Maafushi island's police made arrest of a 19 year old female following an intelligence report. The operation was conducted on October, 13, Friday where authorities had apprehended the female suspect with narcotic items in her possession.
The island which is famous for its booming guesthouse businesses and tourist visitors also houses the government's main prison.
Authorities had uncovered a total of 4 packets containing what was believed to be narcotic substances when they cased the suspect's handbag.
Court has ordered a five day remand on the suspect.
