Procurement cost of MVR 818 mil for Dharumavantha Hospital

A total of MVR 818 million has been allocated in the 2018 state budget for the procurement of equipment required at the 25-story Dharumavantha Hospital.

The exact figure was confirmed during Wednesday's parliament session where Finance Minister Ahmed Munavvar stated the budget allocated amount for Dharumavantha Hospital's complete procurement cost.

Minister Munavvar had furthermore explained the following year's budget will facilitate the provision and improvement of other medical institutes and centers.

The towering hospital's construction officially kicked off in 2016 and is expected for a 2018 grand opening. The monolithic medical institute is constructed by the governance of Singaporean Shenhua Construction for a project budget of USD 140 million.

The 25-story building will allocate at least six floors of it to a national diagnosis center while the hospital is designed to house life support systems. The state-of-the-art hospital also boasts a radiation 'shielding' mechanism installed while the safe storage of medicinal gases will be facilitated in the building.

Dharumavantha Hospital will also house an in-built gym, child care center, rehabilitation suite along with a hydro-therapy suite and an indoor swimming pool.
