Lack of funds hindered Kulhudhuffushi hospital operations

Kulhudhuffushi regional hospital has faced operational challenges due to lack of funds and Aasandha entitlements since India's Noorul Islam International Private Limited (NII) was assigned in running the medical institute.

An official who spoke from the regional hospital confirmed that they had not received Aasandha funds duly while several companies operated in a supply trades in providing various equipment to the hospital had not received their payments resulting in massive outrage among such companies.

Meanwhile media official from Aasandha corporation, Ashiya Solih had explained that the corporation is not involved in direct issuance of funds but it is operated through Finance Ministry and affirmed that all formalities and documentation in issuing finance to Kulhudhuffushi regional hospital was handled on time.

Finance Ministry had not been available to comment regarding the issue.

Director of NII Ali Usaid had also corroborated the issue while clearing Aasandha of any blame as he went on to add the invoices from the hospital's end had been slow in reaching to the government established health insurance corporation.

Usaid had however criticized Noorul Islamic Trust Fund under which NII came into inception as a joint venture for failing to respond over such issues when it had been informed without hindrances. The NII Director said that the parent company under which the regional hospital operates had not fulfilled their end of the obligations.

He also noted the hospital lacks working capital while its operations had been carried out through credit from Aasandha.
