The verdict for Supreme Court's rescind order on amendment brought to Judges Act is tabled for Thursday.
Earlier state affiliated lawmakers had presented amendment to the judges act citing judges convicted of criminal offense would lose their designation post case appeal conclusion. According to the proposed amendment the judges would lose their titles without the need of parliament formalities.
The case to rescind the amendment to judges act was presented at Maldives apex court by prime opposition Maldives Democratic Party's (MDP) parliamentary group leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih along with Kendhoo MP Ali Hussain and Makunudhoo MP Anara Naeem.
The last court session had concluded all hearings for the case while court judge had confirmed the next court session will conclude the case with the verdict.
